The origin of the reconstruction of the former National Army Third Army Bien Long Martyrs Cemetery

"A temple in Bienlong Village straddles the border between the two countries and Myanmar. It is mostly the place where officers and soldiers of the Gaoligong Mountain Column, the Eighth Column, and the Thirteenth Division of the three armed forces and their families are located. It is mostly involved in Nawang, Nabandi, Matoushan, and Sala. The battles of Yakou, Kainong, Benliang, and Laijishan were all fought by veterans with outstanding achievements in hundreds of battles.

Originally named Bingnong, it is located in Chiang Mai, northern Thailand. It is the northwestmost village of the Chinese Village in northern Thailand. It is about 800 meters above sea level. It has a mild climate, good water and soil, and is an ideal farming area. About a hundred years ago, it has been There are Dai people who have settled here to open up wasteland, and there are rural stories circulating that during the war between Thailand and Burma, a royal family led their troops to station here.

Around the beginning of 1961 (2504 in the Buddhist calendar), the Bienlong area had become the second liaison station of Commander Li Wenhuan of the Third Army. Commander Roger led the garrison and built a reservoir to connect with the high mountainous area in southeastern Myanmar. , like three fingers extending smoothly side by side. About two kilometers outside the village is Huihai Village. From outside the forest, the three mountains look like three giant dragons, flying vigorously from China all the way south to the sea! Therefore, it was renamed Bianlong. It also means the descendant of the dragon on the border. The surrounding villages of Mengke Lunhuangxi are also scattered by military families.

Over the years, many officers and soldiers have either died in wars or died of poverty and disease. They have been buried forever in the mountains of northern Thailand in poor conditions. They can only be buried in grass. Most of them have no descendants to worship them. There are only broken cement tombstones with names engraved on them. Many of them are submerged. In the weeds, it's sad.

Colonel Li Youjin, the former head of the Military Association of the Representative Office of the Republic of China in Thailand, learned of this situation and turned it into a petition. The Dutch and Mongolian governments agreed and allocated special funds to repair the tombs of the martyrs, so that they could rebuild the cemetery for their elders.

The engineering team moved here in the continuous rain. Thanks to President Li Yungui, Luo Shi and Vice President, member Liang Chengjiao, teacher Wang Chaorong and the villagers for their strong assistance, the work started one after another. Thanks to the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China for supporting the reconstruction funds, the China Aid Association for its assistance, the Ministry of National Defense of Thailand, the Forestry Bureau and other units for providing various conveniences, and the blessings of the heroic spirits, who were able to brave the cold and wet under the threat of the new coronavirus epidemic, the worst virus of the century. During the heavy rain, we set up tents and worked hard to complete the project specially given by the country to show the spirit of our elders in heaven.
