Doi Chiang Dao is the massive jungle and varieties plant species. The surrounding large and small mountains are covered with light fog which is so breathtaking. Moreover, there are numbers of bird species reside here. The cone-shape limestone mountain is the third ranked of the highest mountain followed Doi Inthanon and Doi Pha Hom Pok. 

Doi Luang Chiang Dao was named after its size. The word “Luang” in the northern dialect means “large” and “Chiang Dao” is slightly changed from Phiang Dao. Therefore, it means “The high huge mountain reaching to the stars”. The only way to reach here is on foot. This is one of the most interesting mountains in Thailand to visit.
