“ Chilling Out Healthy Tour @ San Kamphaeng Hot Springs, Chiang Mai ”

“Good mental health, good physical health and happiness” are what everyone desire and can be achieved through exercise and meditating, deemed as the key to good health. So, we should share some of our time to our health. Health tourism is also an activity that will make us healthier. In travel at San Kamphaeng Hot Springs, Chiang Mai Province

This morning at Chiang Mai Airport, the wather was cool, like it would rain. At First, I thought to rent a car for travelling. But the agreement was changed. We concluded that we would like to chill out for this trip. Moreover one of our team belongs to Chiang Mai (very influent at local language). So, we took a service of has a four – wheel red minibus as the final answer at rete of  20 baht/preson to get off at Kad Laung (Waroros Maket) and transfer to a four- wheel yellow minibus to the hot spring station. It parked at a police box next to Ping Riverside (near Ton Lamyai Market) at rate of  50 baht/preson as the fixed price. Some Four –wheel red minibus some charges at high rate, especially for the tourist. This needs to be careful for negotiation eh eh

It took about one hour to arrive at  San Kamphaeng Hot Springs at 9.00 am. The front entrance was a very beautiful decorative arch, decorated with Bo Sang umbrellas, the well-known OTOP of  San Kamphaeng District.

Entrance fees are as follows: adult 40 Baht, child 20 Baht, foreigner 100, 50 Baht. We did not have to pay because this night we would stay a room here at rete of 1,200 Baht, including mineral bathroom eh eh.

On  the left, I is a restaurant. So,we responded the call of our stomach with Breakfast and hot coffee, followed by fried shrimp, boiled rice with shrimp and shiitake andorange juice. To be frank…. We want all out with it.

At here, there is a terrace at the edge of the garden with a beautiful and refreshing view of trees, flowers, grass, looking clean at all parts, especially, bougainvillea, flower of which is pink and beautiful so that I could not wait to shoot. So,I graped my original camera, canon ios70D, the most beloved one,to take photos as walking to the room. On the way, I sew a symbol of something. I thought that it was a statue of a mushroom. But actually it is the one of boiled egg. On the lrft, it is a mineral bathroom charging on hourlybasis, mineral swimming pool and tent of foot massage where a lot of people are waiting.

After putting away our stuffs, we immediateiy went to seek for places to take photos and most of all we hed to reach the hot spring. On the way to there, we sew a lot of tourists preempting for their seats. Some sat on the edge of the stream with feet soaked. Some mated to eat the boiled eggs. Some chilled out with reading a book. Some children were playing in the mineral water and some of the children were playing at the playground. Some sat for picnic next to their tent. Everyone looked really happy… really pleasing.

Finally we arrived at the hot spring. We bought a basket of eggs for each person, Ai yah!! given away with a bag of sauce as well. The, we immediately brought them to be boiled. Anyway, you need to read labels, how to boil for each kind of boiled egg to eat. I chose the medium-boiled egg, taking 6 minutes for boiling. Got it!!…eh eh.

It is considered as a fun activity, which you can enjoy boiling eggs in this hot spring. Then we searched for a place where we could chill out sitting. Mats for rent are also available here at rate of 20Baht/mat/day at the pleasant corner near a coffee shop, where you can drop your feet to soak into mineral bath comfortably.

While chilling out for a while, we incidentally met “Ms. Thip”, the manager of San kamphaeng Hot Springs and she treated us a cup of coffee… We are grateful. And she told us that at here, the San kamphaeng Hot Springs under the Royal Thought Project, from survey of the Electricity Generathing Authority of Thailand from  1972-1983, there is enough heat to generate electricity. But as the cost is too high, so it was suspended. So, the Tourism Authority of Thailand and San kamphaeng Village Agricultural Cooperatives Limited opened it as an attraction on 22 December 1984. Currently, it is in charge of the san kamphaeng Hot Spring Affairs, the Royal Thought Project, presided by ACM kamthon Sinthawanon, and Privy Councilor, and General Chalit Pkbhasuk, the Privy Councilor.

The manager also added that this hot spring formerly was under San Kamphaeng District. Later, as the administration is expanded, it is split out as Mae On district today.

In Mae On, there are many tourist attractions such as Mae Kham Pong village, Mueang On Cave, etc.,But the recommend ones are new tourist attractions to see simple traditional lifestyle and Karen’s hand-woven fabrics at On Luang Village (Ban Tai Lue),Pa Nigew Village (Karen). There is also a forest village which is the village using biogas from manure systematically (reduce deforestation) and see Sai Chon Waterfall of Pang Champi Learning Center, with fish jumping across the waterfall and added that next day we would be taken to watch. We sat blinking remorsefully and smiles with delight. Oh I like it very much.
