Chiang Mai's first Songkran festival features the 168-year-old Wat Ton Kwen, transformed into a comic art landmark, "Ton Kwen: Roots Rewired," measuring over 6 meters in height.
This artwork deciphers Lanna architecture, from the main chapel of Wat Ton Kwen, into vibrant contemporary illustrations by artist Mig_Mig and Dr. Chompoonut Chompurat. Organized by Central Chiang Mai Airport, in collaboration with the Fine Arts Department Region 7 Chiang Mai, the Chiang Mai Provincial Tourism and Sports Office, and the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Chiang Mai Chapter.
